Yoga and stretching in Varna — leg stretch in a women's studio

Quick guide

The styles of yoga — explained simply

Yoga isn't one thing — it's an umbrella for many different practices, each with its own rhythm and purpose. If you're looking for yoga for flexibility, calm, or just want to understand what everyone's talking about, here's a short and honest guide through the most common styles before you decide what your body needs.

Hatha Yoga

The slowest and most accessible entry point into yoga. Poses (asanas) are held longer, the pace is calm — which is why hatha yoga is often recommended for complete beginners.

Vinyasa Yoga

A dynamic flow of poses linked to the breath — every movement matches an inhale or exhale. It raises the heart rate and builds fluidity in the body.

Yin Yoga

A passive, slow practice with long-held poses (3–5 minutes), targeting the connective tissue and joints. Deeply calming, almost meditative.

Ashtanga Yoga

A dynamic, physically demanding practice with a fixed sequence of poses. Ashtanga yoga builds strength and discipline, but isn't a first step into yoga.

Iyengar Yoga

Precise work on body alignment, often using props — straps, blocks, bolsters. Iyengar yoga is a great foundation for understanding every pose.

Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga uses a fabric hammock to decompress the spine and deepen stretches with the help of gravity — playful, unusual and very effective for flexibility.

Our approach

Yoga, stretching and Pilates — in one class, not six separate sheets

Let's be honest: we don't run traditional classes in a specific yoga style. We're not a classic yoga studio in Varna with a separate schedule for hatha, vinyasa and yin. Instead we take what actually works from yoga — asanas for stretching, breathing techniques and balance — and combine it with assisted stretching and Pilates core control in one complete class.

For the woman who wants flexibility, calm and a toned body, without having to choose between six styles and guess which one is "right" for her, this is the more direct path. Many women also come looking for therapeutic yoga in Varna — relief from back, neck and lower-back pain caused by a sedentary lifestyle — and get exactly that, but within one class rather than a series of separate practices.

The result is a practice that breathes like yoga, stretches like stretching, and shapes the body like Pilates — without having to choose just one of the three.

For beginners

Yoga for beginners — what to expect at your first session with us

If you're looking for yoga for beginners, the most common fear is "I'm not flexible enough" or "I'll look silly next to everyone else." With us, the first session starts with a short conversation — what's worrying you, where you feel tight, what you want to achieve. There's no flexibility test.

Elina Kirilova builds every first class individually: a light warm-up, breathing exercises, a few basic asanas, followed by assisted stretching. All at a pace your body allows — slow, safe and pain-free, in an intimate, women-only setting, with no judging looks.

The studio is at MGA Palace, 60 Vasil Levski Blvd, Varna, and you can even come with a baby or child — we know finding time for yourself isn't always easy. The first consultation is completely free.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about yoga in Varna

Is this a yoga class?

Not quite in the classic sense. We don't run traditional classes in a specific yoga style (hatha, vinyasa, etc.). Instead we take what actually works from yoga — asanas for flexibility, breathing techniques and balance — and combine it with assisted stretching and Pilates core control in one class.

Which yoga style is best for beginners?

Hatha yoga is most often recommended as the gentlest entry point, because the pace is slow and poses are held longer. With us, though, you don't need to choose a style — Elina builds every first session around your level of flexibility and breathing.

Do I need to be flexible to start?

No, quite the opposite. You come as you are — flexibility is a result, not a requirement. We work slowly, safely and without pain, at an individual pace of progress.

What's the difference between yoga and stretching?

Yoga is a holistic practice — asanas, breathing, balance and a philosophy of movement. Stretching is targeted work on muscle length and joint mobility. With us you get the best of both plus Pilates control, for flexibility, calm and a toned body in one class.
